This play, with music, is adapted from the second of Charles Dicken's series of holiday tales.  In A Christmas Carol, the rich miser Scrooge sees the error of his ways after meeting the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future. The Chimes takes a very different perspective;  the action centers around a poor man who is convinced by his 'betters' that the Poor deserve their fate. The Spirits that live in the bell tower of an old church give him a dramatic preview of the future. By the time the bells ring in the New Year, our hero has seen the error of his ways and is ready to see the good in his friends and family.

Last year, thousands of people saw a Dickens' production.  Everyone knows Charles Dickens.  Everyone knows A Christmas Carol.  But, how many times will one person see A Christmas Carol?  Our adaptation of this lesser-known Dickens holiday story gives producers a powerful alternative to draw in theater-goers.  If our project interests you, we would be delighted to send you the full manuscript.  You can reach the authors by email at info@the-Chimes.com.
